The Making of a Cultural Bridge-Builder

ATLANTA, GA – In a culture where Black men are often pigeonholed into narrow definitions of masculinity and success, Gabriel Charles - known in Atlanta's creative circles as "Medicine" and "The Industry Healer" - is redefining what it means to be a Black creative entrepreneur in 2025. Growing up as one of the few minorities in Olney, Maryland, Gabriel's early experiences with racism and cultural isolation became the foundation for his life's mission.

"Having best friends from every single race and dealing with racism at an early age made me more conscious and aware that I wanted to be an example that helped break stigmas and stereotypes."

This early exposure to diverse cultures while navigating racial barriers provided him with a unique perspective. Rather than allowing marginalization to limit him, Gabriel used it as fuel to build bridges across communities - a philosophy that made him the man he is today: An Artist, Actor & Healer.

Redefining Masculinity Through Healing Arts

Despite having limited connections in Atlanta, he felt an undeniable calling to the city known as the "Land of Black Millionaires." This leap of faith immediately paid off, landing him roles in prominent series on Hulu.

"Coming to Atlanta and seeing the Black excellence - knowing it's the land of Black millionaires - that was something in my spirit," Gabriel explains. "I told myself I'm not leaving until I'm a millionaire."

But Gabriel's Atlanta story isn't just another tale of Hollywood dreams fulfilled. It's about recognizing and filling a critical gap in the entertainment industry: the need for holistic wellness support for creatives, particularly those from marginalized communities.

In an industry where Black men often face pressure to project invulnerability, Gabriel's embrace of healing arts represents a cultural evolution. As The Industry Healer, he offers sound bath sessions, Reiki, guided meditations, and wellness coaching.

"My biggest vice in my 20s was figuring out how to manifest and focus when I have all these things put on my heart and mind," Gabriel shared, addressing a struggle many young Black creatives face when trying to balance multiple passions with financial necessity.

Entrepreneurship Meets Community Healing

His wellness lifestyle brand, 92 Medicine, extends beyond individual healing. Gabriel lives and breathes community empowerment with custom aromatherapy sprays, magnesium products, teas, and tinctures designed with the specific wellness needs of Black and brown communities in mind. With 92 Medicine he is addressing both physical and spiritual health in ways that honor his personal cultural traditions.

The Atlanta Verse

Understanding that representation extends beyond modern media, Gabriel created The Atlanta Verse, a digital platform designed to uplift, connect, and inspire content creators. This platform provides a critical need in the creator economy.

"It's a hub and platform that helps uplift, connect, and inspire," Gabriel explains, positioning The Atlanta Verse as more than just another content platform - it's a digital village for Atlanta's diverse creative community.

Gabriel's work sits at the intersection of Hotlanta Culture: the wellness boom within Black communities, the evolution of Black masculinity, and the growing recognition of mental health needs in entertainment. His success story reflects broader shifts in how marginalized communities are claiming space in industries traditionally dominated by white leadership. At 33, Gabriel has positioned himself at the forefront of a cultural movement that prioritizes holistic success over superficial metrics. His goal isn't just personal wealth but creating something "impactful that could last generations - —a mission devoted to building generational wealth and cultural legacy.
